Behavioural Systems Approach to Active School Travel in Surrey

A behavioural systems mapping study of active school travel (AST) in Surrey, produced by the University of Surrey Institute for Sustainability for Surrey County Council and HDRC Surrey (Phase 2, 2026).
Combines a review of 12 published and 5 grey-literature sources with two rounds of workshops and interviews involving 30 local stakeholders. Outputs are:
A systems map of barriers and facilitators (distance, parental time pressure, perceived route safety, infrastructure, policy)
A list of ten clusters of behaviours matched to the stakeholders who could perform them
An integrated interactive behavioural systems map hosted on Kumu.
